It seems that there are very few bugs now and the ones that remain are relatively innocuous. There seem to be more rookie errors than actual bugs.

Hats off to the "Bakers"  you guys have done a great job and deserve a couple of weeks off.

Only a month to go before we will be screaming for another update

More like in a couple of weeks we'll be wondering why the last update was last year.

So true John!

What are you saying, guys?

People are already posting about wishes for the next update.  What they want for X2b.  I'm incredulous..

Freddie thinks it's better, so I'm happy now.  Did Sonar suddenly go all 64bit?

FWIW, I was fine on X2 build 308, but had a crash for first time in ages tonight with X2a when closing a project.  I think I was just pushing too hard, so it's not a major issue.  Pilot error, most likely.  I imagine it was a one off.  I've not seen the issues many have posted about.

Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough.

I'm loving the changes so far.

After a pretty crashless journey through 8.5.3 to X1 and X2, now X2a has started to crash on me.

I still see a lot of little bugs, annoyances more than anything. Some were actually corrected in X1 only to come back in X2. Since they are "little" they'll probably be here a while before they get exterminated.

Try loop recording, comping several takes, using ASIO drivers - just a few bars is all you need. Each is take is progressively further and further off time. If you have your buffer driver settings really low, it will take at least 10 to 15 takes to hear this.

Maybe people don't loop record much anymore and comp takes? I don't know. Seems like a pretty big bug to me. And if you do a search in the forums, it's been a bug for a long time.

It's not fixed in the X2a update.

New features are cool, but let's get the basics working first Cakewalk. Please.

Always takes about 3 weeks before a general consensus is had. I'm placing bets that x2d will be that killer update. Too many enhancements to keep windows 8 users happy in this patch. I'm not complaining, I think cake are going about things the right way providing they steer away from more enhancements or expanded editions from now on.

You're wasting your breath in a Cakewalk worship thread nobody will listen, they'll tell you machine is broken and that your attitude is all wrong and generally give you a hard time without being able to offer any help at all.

Nobody seems to mind that the issues you are having I can replicate on 8.5.3, as long as we can all eulogise about how lovely the Bakers are then this forum is doing it's job.

I'd suggest submitting a bug report then you will at least know you will be being ignored officially.

As for getting help I'm still not sure how you'd go about that.  I had to stop using Sonar for looped takes and purchase an additional app to do it which was a bit of a shame but at least it works, it uses selection comping too as well as take lanes which it's had since 2009.

I'd love Sonar to be able to do this kind of thing effectively as it's a bit of an inconvenience have to swap DAWs to perform different tasks.

One day perhaps.
