I've held out buying a Pultec EQ emulator, in the hope that Cake would release a PC version.

NI are offering their Enhanced EQ with a discount voucher until the end of December.

Has anyone tried this?  How does it compare to other Pultec emulations?

It's very good. I like Nomad Factory's & Waves too.
PSP has a Pultec style plugin called NobleQ which is cool too.

Thanks for your response.

I'll have to have a play with the demo, then.

No Pultec emu that I've tried has beaten this:

Would be interested to hear your opinion after you've compared this with the others mentioned.

Cheers,
Eddie

P.S.  No affiliation, just a happy customer.

I have the Overtone PTC-2A as well.

Picked it up when it was on sale a couple months ago after reading good reviews about it.
Very nice - not a wallet buster either.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I'll try out the PTC-2A demo as well.

Would have been nice to have a PC module version, but at least with the PC FX Chains it'll be easy to set one up.  Pity you are limited by the number of controls you can assign.

Thanks again, and Happy Holidays..

I've posted several times about adding a Pultec EQ to the ProChannel lineup but I guess it's not going to happen!

Seems like every time someone mentions a Pultec emulation, Eddie TX and I chime in to sing the praises of the OverTone PTC-2A.  I love this EQ! Very three dimensional and "glassy" sounding!  Sorry of those terms sound off the wall but it's the best i can come up with t describe it.

I also picked up the PSP NoblEQ and NoblEQex  which has an extra midrange section that lacks in the strict Pultec emulations. Less colored and more transparent than the PTC-2A but still very warm.

Neither are wallet busters!

Merry Christmas to all!  *<|:o)
