Agree with Stevev comments.  Something needs to help this song/production stand out.  It is all good but very tame.  Maybe it could break down into just vocal and 1 instrument at some point?
On the last segment, the electric guitar distortion seems to cloud up the vocal in that if the tones were clean, the emotion of the lead vocal might be enhanced (just MO).
Very nice arrangement.

Some relief from the constant quarter note groove would be great; some sort of rhythmic unison figure leading into the choruses would be effective.

this song has the potential to sound very commercial and maybe hold its own in that arena ..
i think you have to do something here that is gonna throw some more balls into the tune earlier on ...
what ever you happen to do ….own the tune , make it undeniably yours and then take everybody else to school

Thanks Kenny,
This was a male country song that we had the writers change up a little to make it a female song. Trying to go in a kind of acoustic/pop direction, but not being able to play guitar makes it a little difficult. The track you heard is just my attempts at acoustic using the RealGuitar VST. I have a buddy coming to put some real guitar on it soon. Was supposed to be here this past Sunday but couldnt make it.
I also like the idea of stripping it down a bit in sections. I may break it down to acoustic guitar and vocal at the start of verse 2, then come in strong with the intstruments midway thru the verse. Will play with it much more once my guitarist puts his stuff down. Thanks again for the listens and suggestions.
