Thanks for your input Robbie, yes the vocal is not as good as it could be but all I can say it was recorded out of my control in a less than desirable environment.  Things are panned and there is little compression applied other than that applied to the SD 2 instrument, I wonder what Mr Slate would have to say about your interpretation of his SD 2 pre-set.
 
I doubt that I will revisit this as it is primarily my friends song he released it into the wild, he is happy with it.

I just listened and the song has good energy , nice feel..it sounds loose sort of like a club performance ...
i would say it was a nice listen ….  nice raw vibe

Thanks Kenny I appreciate your input, I do believe the feel you describe is was what my friend was looking for and as the "client" we give them what they want, yes

Add some "hey hey"s to it and it's an Indie track. Yeah, the vocal is pretty muffled in spots, so I would place the focus elsewhere. Backing vocals could help with this as well.
