While Gibson liquidates it's assets as they go down, I wonder how long our beloved Tascam has until they get the boot too!
That would be another crying shame.

Well don't forget that Tascam bought GigaStudio and killed it just like Gibson is doing with Cakewalk.

I will be surprised if we see another driver update for the US-NxN interfaces. I hope for those owners that they got the issues with the US-20x20 worked out. Time to start saving for an RME i/f.

Even if I switch to S1 for all work instead of some, I don't trust PreSonus to support their hardware for any length of time even close to the life of the product. Got a Studio 192? Got a problem? Too bad, the Quantum is out now. Oh crapola, the Quantum 2 was just announced/released. Better not have a problem with your new (now old) Quantum. So, the 'tight' integration with S1 doesn't mean doodly squat to me.

If not for the fact real people maye be losing their jobs and livelihoods are affected, it might have been fun to play subsidiary bingo and guess which company gets binned next.

It depends on if Tascam aligns with their corporate marketing paradigm and revenue mobility blah blah blah

I've always been a fan of the Tascam products and have owned at least 3 Cassette based multi tracks, all worked perfectly for me. I made good money with the 8 track model.  I also owned a 1/4" Mastering  reel to reel which I never should have sold... it was brand new and I bet I'd still use it just to watch it go round and round. I now own the us1641 which had a ruff start but now performs equally as well as my Scarlett, I notice no difference between the 2. I also love my little DR 40 another best bang for the buck product from Tascam. I guess I could count my Teac cassette player which refuses to die.

That's not quite what happened there. "Tascam", per se, was not as responsible for Giga's demise as others who were involved.
