Ok it seems as the dust is settling , And the noise is down to minimal, Now that CW has implement Hot fixes , And there no longer afraid of them , It seems mostly everyone is happy. The big question is will they release X2 in 5 months? If so what would you want to see?
I like to see them add a basic delay to the pro Channel such as in Fruity loops on each channel, I also like to see a nice Vst plugin Filter , A nice emulation of an Allen and Heath filter would be fine with me.. or a Sherman..
 What would you like See?

It would be cool if you could just change the EQ in Pro Channel into some kind of sherman filter

#1 - Fix all outstanding bugs - Bakers, you know what they are. Do not let them go another release.

I'd like to see all the older 32 bit vst's like Perfect Space updated and refreshed. And perhaps a common color theme and interface between all the various plugs. Now we have blue Sonitus, gray/brown percussion strips, VVocal another color theme and so on. I know it won't help performance, but I always feel scattered with all the different pieces of 'stuff' flying around - and panup's mods don't help performance either but they sure help in the overall feel.

MIDI tools sightly tweaked to increase performance. Pretty good now but I know there's tricks yet to be tried.

Zoom Scroll with mouse wheel and other simple ways to increase decrease zoom levels.

The return of a 'Blank' template - that doesn't kill Screen Sets.

Customizable colors.

Customizable Control Bar.

New tool bar icon - "Insert Talent Here"

Fixing the colors of envelopes in the track view would be #1 (in tandem with allowing colouring of the PAN and VOL sliders in the Track View Control Panel)

You can copy "blank" from the 8.5 file and paste in X1 and "there you go!"

I would like to see a kind of "studio 'non-stick' tape" that one could 'stick on a fader track/bus and put marks/lines in maybe different colors that at specific times that fader would move between the "digital tape and its' marks" at specific now times and "slopes" to get to and from the next marker. The tape could fade with "X-Ray" and adjustment to the 'start' level.

Would be quick - easy and "retro" too.

Any Thoughts?

Just an FYI that SONAR already has Fast Zoom. Hold Alt and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. You can tweak the settings in Zoom Options which is in the Track View's Options menu. Personally, I set the Vertical value to 1.000 so that it only scrolls horizontally, but that's a personal preference.

Also, there is a Blank template you can choose when you click File and then New. With each release I lobby hard for the Normal Template to have no audio or MIDI tracks of any kind but have a Master, Metronome, and Preview bus ready to go, but it gets shot down every time. Send it in as a feture request and maybe something will happen.

I should have said return a Blank Template that won't kill Screen Sets and produce other such anomalies.

That would indeed be awesome. I'll see what I can do (no promises, but I'll give it a nudge).

Thanks Seth,

Maybe I should request a few more things that are already there and have users point them out here.

Has the Blank Template been added back since X1a? Or do you still have to have an Audio or MIDI track in order to have a 'Blank' template that won't kill Screen Sets? Hey wait if there's an Audio track is it still blank?

The Blank Template is still there, and you can save the Normal template (which is what opens when pressing Ctrl + N) however you want. Just click File and then Save As, change the type to Template, then navigate to where the Cakewalk Templates are saved and save over the existing Normal Template.

However, Screensets do not work if there are no tracks in a project. It's a known issue, one that I've lobbied over, and one that we can hopefully fix in the future.
