I have a few suggestions:

1. Allow editing of midi/audio directly from the matrix cell (double click cell to open piano roll view), only show midi from the midi clip, rather than the enire PRV, maybe the same with audio open the loop construction view?

2. Pay someone to re-skin most of the older included Sonar plugins, build a cohesive look and feel across the entire plugin family.

3. Improve the look of the audio and midi clips & automation in the track view. If you've used reaper before you can see how very cool waveforms look anti-aliased.

Oh also:

4. QWERTY Midi Keyboard, when I'm on my laptop and inspirations stikes, it would be good to be able to use the laptop keyboard to record.

1. Make all proprietary plugins 64-bit compatible - no more need for BitBridge or jBridge.
2. Suppress the "always on top" behaviour of proprietary plugins.
3. Provide a Track View option to indent / not indent tracks in track folders.

I want to use the new audio effect plugins on a live input channel without delay .
I now you can use that pdc button for that but i hate to use that every time i want to record in X1.
I also now that the new plugins are not made for that .
Wel ,make it work for that please.
Or make it so i dont have to use that pdc button that it is done automatic :)

I want it for free to compensate for the previous software.
Actually i dont want X2.
In the best case you will suffer as much as the previous (x1)

1 - Control Bar should allow ALL modules to be visible, ALL at once.... otherwise is unusable... unless you have a mega-screen, which can't always be the case...
At present, the Control Bar is the worst out there...
This point is URGENT..... no way out....

2 - Track Headers should be implemented with selectable tools and buttons of features present up to v8.5, now missing in X1...

3 - Real color customization BACK...

Without the above points fixed, hardly ever X2 might be my next upgrade...

But just like expecting MP3 support (which you can get free to use) within the DAW.  It only makes sense that a DAW app should have a real time analyzer included.

Uh, but SONAR does come with one, or did I miss something else?

Yeah, sorry for not being more clear.

I'd love to see the real-time analyzer embedded into the EQs themselves.  WaveArts TrackPlug EQ does this if you want to see what I'm talking about (they have a demo you can download).  It shows the RTA graphically behind the EQ plot points you've got setup.  This is a good way to see where the individual track (or buss for that matter) has most of its energy.

After using that plug-in, it seems only logical that all EQs work that way because it gives you the ability to hear as well as see the frequencies that were tracked and make the appropriate subtractions where necessary.

The EQs found on the Console View as well as the Pro-Channel could both have this type of feature and I personally think in the long run we would all find that valuable.  It seems odd now that I've used the WaveArts version to have to put a separate plug-in just to see my RTA it should be available on every track (and can be turned on an off when needed) much like the Pro-Channel is available today.

The ability to place folder tracks inside other folder tracks

this is a VERY COMMON feature in other daws.
and also: make moving tracks in general and interaction with folder tracks easier and more intuitive, it's just too "sensitive"  right now, and I need to use NASA-SPACESHIP-PILOT-ACCURACY to nail the tracks I want to the position I want them in.

something like this:

Midi    Track 1
Audio  Track 1
Folder Track  1
---Track 1
---Track 2
---Inside Folder 1
------Track X
------Track Y
------Track Z
---track 3

I would like minimised plugs to NOT cover the scroll bar......I sometimes spend ages moving plugs out of the way to scroll left or right...yea I know I should drop 'em in the multidock but often I don't (as I may have so much in the multidock it takes ages to find and undock 'em again when I need them) and they become a PITA
