1) Make sure it is actually in a suitable state for release. X1 was not. If your beta testers are not picking up enough bugs, get better, or ideally more testers.
2) Go through some of the threads and piles of customer feedback regarding what X1 is missing compared to 8.5, and work out ways that this could either logically integrated back into X1 (customize midi tools is a good start) or if the feature exists but confuses people/is improperly implemented compared to 8.5 (snap setting strength...) then work out ways that make a more logical approach to the mechanism from a customer and users point of view, not the convenient group think that commonly happens in board meetings (not meaning to insult Cakewalk, I have faith in your team but it doesn't take a psychologist to point out common aspects in human behaviour.)
3) Staff view needs work. You know that notation concept that people have been using for hundreds of years? Nobody is expecting Sibelius included within Sonar, just for the staff editor to work in a logical fashion and have the sort of basic functionality that users have been asking for for years now. I really wonder when I see constant marketing how Cakewalk takes suggestions from it's user base but this is just ignored.
4) Matrix view is an awesome idea, but still needs a little more work. But that is something I am sure has been discussed before.
5) Please no more instruments or effects, just stick with the basics, get those perfect and people will thank you for it.
