My theory is that if the GUI thread is suspended for a certain time that there's an interrupt that causes the white screen.  When loading lots of samples or accessing large files, especially on slower machines or disk drives this can occur temporarily causing the white screen until the GUI thread resumes execution.  So I don't think it's a problem, you should be able to safely ignore it.

Or I could be completely wrong.

I have it happen when opening a blank new project from time to time..but not every time
win 7 64 bit, Nvidia 1 gig graphics card, no Xray enabled

Still, could be that it's accessing config files etc, and doesn't get back to the GUI thread in time to prevent the white screen.  Are you using SATA drives running at 7200 RPM?

Interesting....  Maybe the update will fix this.  I hope so, because of the sinking feeling you get when you see that white screen.  We shouldn't have to put up with that except for real crashes.  :)

Do you normally login to Windows using an account with administrator privileges? You should only have to Run As Administrator to register the product the first time and then you shouldn't have to do that again.
