Has any one here tried the NEYRINCK tablet app controller with X1 or X2, the video for this looks good.

Android is so prevalent now- why wouldn't they make an android version of this app?  I have no plans to buy an ipad.  They are cutting out more than half their potential market

The answer is simple. Android has a huge problem with Latency.

It's built into the OS. I bought an iPad for its music making apps. That's the only reason.

IOS is your only option for Tablet recording.

With the exception of maybe Caustic all the best Apps are IOS only.

Oh wait just saw you were referring to a Controller. Anyway nearly everyone who is serious about mobile Tablet recording will have an iPad because of the issue mentioned above so its still in the same situation.

i know about androids issues with latency- but that should not be a factor for a control surface, right?

You know this how? I use an Andriod tablet and run This and it does a good job. Give the other tablets time and just maybe an ipad will be the least useful tablet around.

Nope - it shouldn't. Apples and Oranges. Supposedly, audio latency issues have improved somewhat in the 4.x builds of Android. It's a much harder row to hoe for Google - they don't control the hardware the way Apple controls their's. It doesn't mean they won't get there, just that it takes longer.

Latency isn't JUST necessarily talking about the audio path.
Latency can impact network connectivity (among other things), which in turn can impact the MIDI control response.

Otherwise, we woudn't need to worry about things like MIDI & I/O buffers in programs like SONAR....
