Well, the lights on the midi indicator don't light and there is no response in Sonar.   

Here's what I'm running:

Sonar 8.5.3
Windows Vista home Premium
Dell Inspiron 545
Intel Core 2 quad Q8200 2.33 Ghz
64 Bit
M-Audio 2626

I'm thinking it may be the Multi cord from M-Audio.  I substituted another controller and that had no response as well.  

The M-Audio works great for everything else.

Could I just buy another midi interface and use the M-Audio for audio?

It's now working.  Since this has happened before, and I've played around with the cables I'm now suspecting that it's the M-audio 2626 breakout cable.
