Hello all, Ive just installed SONAR X1 and Im trying to get my hear around using it. Im using an RME UC interface, my OS is Windows 7 ultimate, I have an Intel Corei7 processor and 8 gig of RAM. First problem is - As soon as I open SONAR Im getting a dialogue telling me: "Cannot open MASTER. INS. No instrument definitions will be available." I can play the SONAR X1 demos no problem but I cant get the program to register any sound going in. Im assuming this has to do with the MASTER.INS.Im guessing that I have to direct sonar to the correct input but I have no idea how to do this. Second problem is - There is no "Blank" template in the Quick Start dialogue. The manual and the tutorials say there should be one but I cant see it. Maybe this has something to do with the MASTER.INS problem. I dont know. Can anyone help with these two problems please? Thanks in advance. Eugine.

OK firstly Google:
x1 Cannot open MASTER. INS. No instrument definitions will be available

Check the very first post about holding down the shift key.

No, I havent installed the X1D patch. Im a newbie and this version is straight out of the box. I dont know what build it is.SONAR X1 Producer.Thats all I know. Im expecting a steep learning curve up ahead. Do I need to install quick fix?

From memory, I think you need to install the C patch, then the D patch - in that order - on top of your existing X1 installation

I believe it tells you the version you are running, on the sonar start up screen.

So install X1d service pack if not installed. Don't install any quick fixes.

Cheers

D will only install on top of C, at least that's how I remember it
