Reflashing firmware will probably do nothing. Try removing drivers and reboot and see if it works without them (what is supplied with Windows). Otherwise latest drivers from Rolands site.. Log an issue with Roland otherwise. NB Good idea to update your footer like mine, I don't know what version of Windows and whether you are running 64/32 bit Windows and/or Sonar. Also keep your "master keyboard" switched off for now.

Just wanted to note that I have the A-PRO 800 working fine alongside several other controllers (VS-100, VS-700C, MCU), all switched on at same time. I could move sliders on the A-PRO (which I rarely do, though) and have my motorized faders on the other devices following ...

You need to make sure that the A-PRO is registered in Sonar as a Control Surface (Preferences/MIDI/Control Surfaces) using "A-PRO" as the controller type. Also, make sure you select the proper Input and Output Port for the A-PRO. I believe it is the A-PRO 1 for Input and A-PRO 2 for output.

This is what caused me problems initially because these ports come labelled as A-PRO 1 and A-PRO 2 and I always forgot which one was the right one (and everytime you run Sonar with the A-PRO switched OFF, Sonar forgets the settings). So use "friendly names" like "A-PRO CTRL" for the right I/O ports and you'll always know which one to set it to.

1) Alex, updated info should be below I hope (sorry, new to this forum).

2) FreeFlyBertl - I originally had the same confusion in preferences with A-Pro, A-Pro 1 and A-Pro 2 input and output however all preference settings are correct.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions, unfortunately it looks like waiting to hear from CW (or Roland Australia). I have seen all the video's and tutorials on CW's site and there is absolutely no way that I can get the A-Pro to work like that!!

Wishing season greeting's to all. Be safe over the holiday period :)

Stupid question. You are using USB MIDI. You are only using USB MIDI?

USB midi out from A-Pro straight to DAW. The non USB midi is my Clavinova connected via the A-pro Din midi in (which in preferences is A-Pro midi in). Having the Clavinova disconnected makes no difference.

Update - I now have both A-pro control and midi working properly. Further bonus my sustain pedal now works. After many frustrating hours! I found in preferences the A-pro 1 and 2 were selected correctly however I also had A-pro midi in selected and this was causing my problems.

Thanks to all for your time and suggestions.
