Nice job Chucky,

The guys are stuck taking a couple thousand dollar bath on a tech dinosaur and you gotta take the time to rub salt in the wound?

I feel sad to witness the situation... heck they still have that other VS-700c that they have to live with.

I wouldn't pay more than the $1950.75 for one new, let alone used without a warranty, but if you ask me... this must be the very best place to try to find someone who thinks it's a great "piece of kit" and wants to buy it.

Chucky, IMHO, I think you should let the official forum moderators do the moderating.

all the best,
mike

Something to consider; Musicians Friend has the V Studio 700 on ebay as well as their own site, brand new in a box, with SONAR v8.0 for $2295 with free shipping.

They'll do $1,950.75, delivered, if you use this season's coupon code.

best regards,

Actually, this is not correct. The MF unit is just the console, not the complete system.  There currently are only two complete new systems for sale on ebay. One is a private party who states that it is new and also may be used with Pro Tools. The unit has been opened and turned on by the customer. It is not new and nor does this system work with PT. I think they want $2700.  The other full system is from Gigasonic.  Though called new, it is missing original packing material and obviously has been opened. They want a tad more.

As a owner of the V 700 system, bought the first week of release for  over $4000k,  $2700 for the complete system sounds like a screaming good deal. There is simply no other product like this with so many features that is available that will be so tightly integrated with Sonar.

Regarding the comment calling this a tech dinosaur.... hmm.  There has been much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the V700 forum (myself included) regarding compatibility issues introduced with X1. This has in no way impeded my ability to use this system to record. I am using X2.  There are some relatively minor issues with the unit and X2, but it has been blown far out of proportion when you look at the entire picture. Not to mention that Cake has reassurred us that a software update is coming.

Is the original post spam? Seriously? A fellow Sonar user offers other Sonar users a screamingly good deal on a product that is pretty darn good as is and that is "tacky"? Wow...  Not from my perspective.

.. Perhaps we could all be a bit more charitable here and just chill a bit. I have no  financial interest or knowledge of any one in this thread other than being a fellow Sonar user.

Respectfully....

Thanks for the correction.

It seems like the specifications on the Musicians Friend page, where it says it includes a Phantom VS Synth and rack ears for the V 700R aren't really meant suggest that you actually get the synth or the rack ears.

I missed the fact that the specifications description did seem to confuse me and acknowledge that you are correct, the R costs extra.

Thanks again.

best regards,
mike
