Hmm. As I said earlier in the thread, I do various bits of writing and reviewing (and I'm not the only member of this forum who does so), and I have never been told what to write, much less been bribed, and no other writer I know has either. It's a really extremely rude claim to bandy about, especially when you clearly have no evidence of it happening. Even if you did have an instance of it, all you'd have is one instance. The claim "most reviews are paid for" is extremely insulting, as is the suggestion that journalists deserve a special place in hell. Maybe think before you spout off about things you know nothing about in future, eh?

John I agree 100 percent.

The accusation is not only did these magazine writers except the bribe, but they accepted the bribe and still wrote a really bad review. Just how idiotic does one need to be to make such a statement to begin with? They got paid to say it's pretty but it sucks? That to me marks the most ignorant thing I have ever read on this forum.

I don't know, John.  There have been some other contenders for most 'ignore rant' on this forum - some folks keep entering new material, maybe there should be some sort of lifetime achievement award - to recognize someone's entire body of bull.

By the way, doesn't that original poster owe us all for our reviews of his post?  It sounds like that's the way his world works.  Ka-Ching!

All I know is that I couldn't figure out what Marcus had done to prompt such a reply. Now it makes perfect sense.

Proving that Shakespeare was wrong. The right name applied to the wrong person can be very confounding.

Shakespeare missed the Marc?

EVERYthing what I have to say...STOP. (...or not...´cause it´s funny...;)
But beside that. Nobody knows where the discussion really started...I´m sick of it...how old are we ???

I´m 42 and far far away to point my decision to spend up to 800€ for "my" new DAW called XXX on a magazine review, ´cause it´s the new "hell of a machine" in magazine XXX...(not X-rated to be part of this thread...;)
My first so called DAW was runing on my C64 and it was Steinbergs first product...
Later I was traveling from Logic (Emagics stuff) to Cubase over trying Samplitude for a while...´til I found for myself Sonar 8, which fitted all what I want in a good package for working at home on my MUSIC...
In our studio I´m working on Cubase and also ProTools...at home on Sonar X2...
...and it´s running like a charm, no crackles, not a single point of "ommph!!!" during it´s release...a few bugs...yes but nothing very special.

AND I DON´T GIVE A **** ON MAGAZINE REVIEWS, FORUMS AND WEBSITES !!! (these are just Picturebooks with a few usable Tipps inside, more entertainment than "you have to...") ...if someone´s really believing in REAL and GOOD journalism in our time...
...sleep further and further...

Wait a second here..   You are using four different daws?   You have not said goodbye to any of them?  OMG, that is plain weird.

All this time I am thinking, "i am the only person using several daws, at the same time, without saying goodbye to any of them."

With the exception of Ableton Live..   I sold my license a while back, "woo hoo."  But in my defense, "i did not say goodbye to it."

I did´nt use 4 DAW´s at the same time ;)
I´d said GoodBye to a few ones...it was just a travel to find Sonar during the last few years as the POINT for Me...

How many contacts we´d got to other musicians and producers...so everybody is able to test a DAW of it´s choice for a while...
I´d loved Samplitude 8 (for an example) and was working with it for 2 years...than came Cubase for a while until I found Sonar 8, later X1...and so on...
I´d tested Samplitude ProX for 3 weeks this summer at home and decided to say goodbye to "Sam" by finding Sonar X2 later on...Update from X1 and now I´m fine...
