I have to say (what I forgot to say...;)...Yes, in our studio (not at my projectstudio)...C7 is running like hell for the moment...looking great, feels great...but at the moment it´s not enough to grab an upgrade for my projectstudio, too. 
Maybe it will be the point, when I´ll get my first own 27" touchscreen (Acer and AOC are working on budget monitors).
Cause, C7 on Windows 8 and an 22" touchscreen for testing in our studio...jesus...
...this could change the whole f...cking workflow we were stucked to, since ages...
...it´s great...won´t miss it after 2 day tryings...
...So...I wish for later 2013...Sonar X2 with an fully integrated Touchscreen ability...

I don't understand why the original poster child for this thread did not thoroughly test out the product through a trial version prior to betting the farm on it.  Yes, there was a delay in one being offered, all the more reason to wait a bit of time for one prior to jumping to it.  That's just a foolish move on his part - (one of many).

I deliberately keep at least one and sometimes two desktops handy for trying things out - like Windows 8, or free trials of things like X2.  Who in their right mind would buy a car without a test drive?

To be honest most reviews are paid in some way other directly or indirectly nowadays... (i.e. via a PR firm or commercials). 

Are you serious? Many companies these days ask for the reviewer's or edirtor's credit card before they'll even ship out the unit, and require signing loan documents with specific loan periods.
 
PR firms send out press releases, and can tell reviewers who to contact at companies for more information. Ads pay for pages, not content.
 
At least that's the way things work at Harmony Central and Electronic Musician magazine. I guess we're just behind the times As to how things work at Amazon...no comment.

For nice journalism can magazine be paid but not in Sonar X2 which to be fixed pretty but still working.  So sad.

All the magazines are just another part of entertainment...nothing really more.
I´m not interested in how many €/$  are on it´s way, while the parcel service delivering the new gear to the editors...

Both magazines have they tested Sonar X2? It is true that is pretty, but not finished. Then give positive feedback for software not finished, Cakewalk had to pay the journalist for a nice story.
 
They are ready to discredit it their business to help Cakewalk. It's beautiful, I will cry.
Meanwhile, given no solution to correct or improve SONAR X2.

When X1 was released, a review had come out about how great it was and went in to great detail about how smooth some of the features worked. It turns out that some of the features that were supposedly tested didn't even work when X1 was released. X1 was released with those functions broken and there is absolutely no way that the reviewers could have tested the software. They were just going off the bullet points that Cakewalk released and never even installed the software to check it out themselves.

There was another review that posted screen shots of some new features in X1 ... and those screen shots were from Sonar 5 or 6 if I remember correctly? It was a very old screen shot of the Step Sequencer.

I lost all respect/faith or whatever you want to call it, in these online reviews, especially reviews in magazines.

I imagine it's that way with almost everything that is reviewed ... it's just that I caught them in a bold faced lie when X1 was reviewed and it really opened my eyes to the scam these review magazines have going.

Anyway, that logic fails.  It is like saying I've read "problems w/ SONAR xyz" that were user errors instead.  Therefore there are no problems w/ SONAR xyz at all.  Yet you insist yours were real.  Cake admitted one problem you had was a bug.  But that doesn't matter, because someone else reported a bug that was user error.

Reviews are just that - reviews to help users decide to buy/upgrade.  If you decide all reviewers/reviews/mags are evil scam, that doesn't mean others might find them as helpful as you find them distasteful.  Or that you might learn something you didn't know.
