Maybe some background Windows service is interfering in some bizarre way?  Just grasping here - maybe as someone else had posted, try knocking out a bunch of services, such as antivirus, and such.

I wish I had something better to offer than the technical equivalent to  the Wile E Coyote umbrella over the head thing to stop the rock from landing on my head - sorry.

Hi Everyone, Thanks very much for all the suggestions. I checked them out but didn't have much success. After 30+ years in the Army I've learned a few sayings. One of the most useful is, "Sierra Hotel" which means "s*** happens". When something happens which makes no sense you say S.H. and continue on the best you can. I think this is a case of "Sierra Hotel". I went back to the drawing board and copy/pasted an older version of the drum track. All's OK now. I think this event is just the result of a software bug that doesn't happen very often (thankfully!). Cheers! Mike
