...but I've seen Brandon talk about the content thereof. So was it just the content included ?

But hey, we still get Dreamstation !! Now that's a comfort :)

I don't think it was included but you should be able to use the version that came with X1. You may have to do a scan for it though. Cheers.

Beatscape is not included in X1. As Beepster said you can install it from X1 and it will show up in X2. I was bummed at first when I found out that Beatscape was being dropped. I had a lot of problems with it, but it was so cool and useful when I was able to get it to work. After using the Beatscape content in the media browser I'm so much happier now. Workflow is a LOT better this way. I miss a few of the Beatscape features, but not the hassle and crashes.

why miss beatscape just use RXP which was *ALWAYS* better.

At 0:29:13 in the CakeTV Live for Sonar X2 ( installment number 4, here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3eeSD9uPqw ) Brandon says:
"the Beatscape Factory Content... we've put that in one folder now, as opposed to being in multiple folders. Reason is it makes it very useful with the Spotlight Search".

So what I make of that is they included only the content in X2 - better organized though - but not the Beatscape itself (it's not listed anyway in the X2 Producers arsenal of Virtual Instruments).

And yeah, RXP was indeed always better.

I don't think of beatscape as being "gone." I think of it as having morphed into matrix view. All of the content is still there... now... you can drop that content into a matrix cell AND as a plus, the matrix cells can also play midi files attached to an output, and groove clips... it's the best of all worlds :)

Beatscape was actually pretty cool... being able to edit the slices and play them via MIDI was nice. It's too bad it was developed further.

I tried using RXP last night and got confused. I selected a slice, right-clicked, and then chose Reverse. But it reversed the entire clip. And I couldn't get it to play the clip afterwards. Are there any good resources for learning how to use RXP?

All of the soft synths included with SONAR are discussed in my SONAR Power books... http://www.garrigus.com/powerbooks.asp

fwiw dimension pro handles rx2 files as well.  very cool being able to use them there.  the available fx are better quality than rxp and the automation parameters are actually displayed in the automation list which comes in quite handy ;).
