Hi,
Haven't posted anything here for some time....
I'm just upgrading from 8.5.3 to X2 and looking at getting a new high res video monitor, Either a Dell 29 inch 2560 x 1080 or a 27 inch 2560 x 1440.
Anyone have any preferences as to which one they would find most useful with X2?
I'm leaning towards the 27 inch 2560 x 1440.

Hi Andrew, I use a 27" 1920x1080 monitor (Acer H274HL LED), and have not had any issues with the video for X1/X2. Both of your choices exceed that, so this is really up to your preferences (cost, performance, rating, table space, etc.). If it were me, I would also go with your 27" choice, as it yields more "pixel real estate." (the 29" is simply 600 pixels wider) Bear in mind also that your graphics card can play a big part of what makes the monitor "run well" too, so research that in tandem to an upgrade. Best regards, Michael

I use 2 22 inch wide screen monitors and they do quite well indeed.

What you list seems outstanding for X2. Either one will do the job. But I like the flexibility of 2 monitors. What is best for you is up to you. And good luck.

+1 for dual monitors with X1 and X2!

I'm using a 22" for my primary, and a 17" for my secondary (although a matching pair would be better...)

Having the capability to move the dock (console, synth browser, etc.) to a completely separate monitor opens up a LOT of additional space for working in the various views on the main screen ~ and with Screen Sets, you can save and restore multi-screen layouts with a click of the mouse!

Just a thought - why not consider using a 32" HDTV for your display?  I have 2 of them for my setup, and they work GREAT, and are much cheaper for any given size.

You can pick up a 32" HDTV for at or less than $200 these days.
