What a strange and pointless waste of my time reading this thread was...

I had a revelation!!

People who like Sonar X2 should use it. People who don't like it shouldn't use it.

Personally I think it should be the other way around. That way we can all be unhappy.

Surely people who use Sonar actually think it's the best option for their use and circumstances don't they? In exactly the same way as anyone who chooses a different DAW presumably does so because it's the best option for them.

I can't think of anyone who would do nothing but complain about how useless a program is for years on end and still carry on paying for upgrades can you?

We may use X2 but still have some gripes.  The gripes I have mostly is changes to the behavior between versions... like someone else decides how something should work.  Very frustrated to relearn tasks that one already knows.

I am not complaining about X2, and as a matter of fact, like it a lot and sit in amazement on how complex the engine of the program must be to work with every combination of hardware known to mankind.

I also have "gripes" but I figure after the patch most if not all will be a thing of the past.

I don't like posting about a supposed problem when often its basic user error. There are problems with X2 I will not deny that.  But we have seen every new release of Sonar come out with bugs. It is nothing new. Nor should it surprise anyone. At this point in its life cycle one can only ask is it usable or not? I think it is for non critical work. I use this time in adjusting to the new ways it does things.

I do know that over all its a great advance in the X versions. I like it very much.

Given that the original message is disabled, it feels like China;-) I restart the post.
Well, I did as Anniedog I bought Cubase 7 to its commercial release. And good for gossip and backbiters, Cubase 7 is not a ambrion is a true version, and it WORKS.

Does this mean you don't own a commercial release of Sonar?

well, that says it all-ambrion stem cell research? Give me a break. Why do people feel the need to come here and post something like this? It's like grammar school-well, not really because in grammar school I knew how to spell.

By the Time the bugs get worked out , Then the newer version comes out and then we are back where we started .... I get so excited about  the new features I usually take a chance and upgrade...... Next time I will wait about six months before I upgrade and be totally a half  a year behind But I will have a stable DAW!!!!!

People who make posts like this actually don't make their living in music. You simply couldn't if you were this unwilling to work through problems. Your man's a keyboard warrior living in his mum's spare room, would bet my life on it.
