Hey - trying to build a song quickly with loops - used to use logic where I could create a 2 bar phrase and then "Turn loops into real copies" which essentially created copies of that loop until the end of the song, which I would use and delete as needed.

In sonar X1, I see we have groove clips, loops.  I have 2 audio tracks and a s3 track that I would like to loop for, say 8 times for an intro, then another set of 2 audio tracks and a s3 track to loop for a verse etc

I could obviously copy and paste the 2 bar loop of each track, but I bet there's an easier way, no? thx

You've already answered the question - use Groove Clips.

Turn any clip into a groove clip by selecting it & hit ctrl + L

Yes as Colin says groove clip then drag it out to required length.

Provided of course the grooveclip thing interprets the right tempo.  Otherwise you get weird behaviour and have to start monkeying around with the GC tempo.

In practice, unless I'm just working out a pattern, I very rarely use groove clips.  I just find it easier to copy/paste them into where I need 'em.  Easier to then slip edit cuts and drops.

Alternatively you can copy the clip and do a ctrl-alt-V to special paste, then specify how many copies of the clip you wish to paste. You can also choose to link the copies of the clip to the original clip (so that when you edit one, you edit them all etc). 

Groove clips/Acidized clips roll out.  If you are making the clips then your playing needs to be up to snuff, or the same quirks get repeated and the timing can be off as Mr. Wood sez.  Don't groove those - just copy and paste as Sharke sez.  Both methods work.  Groove clipping is a tad quicker, tho.

If it's an audio clip and the groove clip interprets the wrong tempo, just open clip in loop contruction view and choose number of beats etc.
