@Noel... Well a lot of times this is where we figure out whether something is a bug or we are just screwing something up. If it is the former I'm assuming many will report... if it's the latter foreheads get slapped and life goes on. ;-p

Just rewatched FBBs Matrix teaser. Haven't ventured into all that mayhem yet. Might try it out once I'm set back up. Looks like something begging for my pK to mangle about with.

@noel - thank you guys soooooo much.  i am really looking forward to the update.  this is awesome news for the opera that i am working on right now.  i like the changes to the matrix that you implemented.  the per-cell resolution is fantastic and will come in really handy.  looking forward to the playlist changes as well. nice profile pic btw. don't see sheet music too much anymore. ;)

Is this the only matrix issue that you folks were running into? We have quite a few matrix related fixes in the next update. Want to make sure we covered the more basic ones.

@noel - the random re-triggering of first midi notes in a clip when you trigger a cell is a big one.  i.e. you click the cell, and it plays the clip but when it hits the end the first note(s) in the clip are played again.  switching direct to synth option in matrix view seems to remedy that issue if that helps any.  i haven't really done thorough testing at this point but some of the things that i do use it for is running the matrix clip through the arpeggiator that the cell output is mapped to and modifying the channel and arp parameters on the fly via either automation lanes linked to arpeggiator parameters midi learned to my keyboard... i can check this out this weekend if it might be helpful.  i know these are things that only a small fraction of cakewalk users might be doing though, so if your time is better served elsewhere i understand.

Can you provide a bit more detail to allow me to understand the problem? Are you triggering the cell as a one shot? Otherwise its expected that it will loop to the beginning.
There are some new fixes in the update to improve rendering when rows are routed through tracks.

We had a thread about a situation where the first note of midi/step sequencer clips would invariably hang.

I submitted a problem report on it around Nov. 11 - CWBRN-12728

I did fix a bunch of issues with the potential for stuck notes. However I think there is one residual issue which has been hard to track down, where you can get a stuck note when routed through the track. I'll try and fix it if it doesn't turn into a rathole.
It doesn't happen in direct mode.

BTW direct mode was implicitly the only way that X1 worked, although its completely redesigned in X2.  Routing through a track uses a completely independent rendering infrastructure because it has to handle hardware MIDI as well. Hence the complexity.

JI would be happy if the latency compensation for midi/soft synths worked. Its is almost do able at 1.5ms with a phase/flange that is audible but sheesh even with all the CPU grunt in the world heavy projects are going to start clicking at those timings. At 2.8 ms there is a distict double hit noticeable on drums and the MUSH it makes of thick synthetic basses UGH!. I likey the MATRIX PLEASE GET IT WORKING. Right now I am getting better results with LIVE8 rewired into Sonar and using LIVE's cells. Soo much more functionality in regards to in cell editing etc BUT I would be happy for masic playback in the MAtrix for most things . COME ON CAKEROL WE ALL KNOW YOU CAN DO IT . DO IT DO IT WELL DO IT BETTER DO IT THE BEST. I have stuck with you for 15 years and aint to keen on using that pos interface of live and DONGLES are offensive to me PLZ SONAR x2A fix the MATRIX.
