Like most others who have commented I have to agree this is a great song on every level!!  I agree too that the female vocal could be pulled down just a tad. but other than that I thought it was really, really good.

Sounds great. Personally, I'd call this more traditional country pop. I have no idea where country music is going anymore. More rock/pop oriented. Never listen anymore. But good song.

This is a terrific song and recording.  You have good tips, so the rest should be easy.  Thanks for sharing.

It sounds like John Cage's, "4:33". I don't know why soundclick's player never plays. Anyone know why I can't use their player?

Nice song though country is not something I really do.  Agree about the backing vox being to present.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Michael,
Really nice sounding tune.
I'm not sure if it's the BG vocal being too loud or if the lead vocal might need to come up a bit, especially in the passages with full instrumentation going on.
In any event, that balance between the two was the only niggle I would have, overall it's a great sounding mix.
Nice work!

Yes, sent the mix to one of my mixing colleagues and he suggested to go back to the Auratones and follow the lead a little closer--just as you suggested. I did bring the girl down a little and thin her out a bit, raised the organ in the bridge, and replayed the strings. Thank you everyone for your help.

Very nice intro - feel and sonically.
Acoustic is too thin sounding.  Vocals are really good in delivery and EQ.
Love the feel of the singing.  The mix is really good.
By the 2nd chorus, I am hooked.
What a cool song.  I would not put the distorted guitar in the center as it bumbs into the lead vocals.
This song should be heard by millions.
Nice going.

Well what do you know. Soundclick works again. (I just did a Win 7 reinstall)

Maybe it's me but I find when I hear country music from, pardon the term, "no nameres" I tend to like it better. Maybe it's because you put that much more effort into it to be heard? Either way, nice song and some excellent vocals!

Very pretty. Listening on headphones, here's what jumped out at me: On the very first word of the song ("Words...") there is sibilance on the "s." It's not terrible, but once I heard it I kept hearing it on all the words that end in "s." The sibilance seems to go away after the first minute or so -- maybe because the singer's delivery is changing as he gets into it, or the track masks it or something, but out in the open at the beginning you might want to try to de-ess it. The mix is fine, and I don't have a problem with the soundstage or balance. Great job.
