The application will launch but opening any plugin crashes the program.  I cant even open dimension pro 32bit Sonar just exits.

I heard there will be a Windows 8 patch.

So I went back and tried Sonar 8.5 and it worked flawlessly on Win8 I could insert plugins and play sounds.

BTW 8.5 is 32bit version.

What does this mean ???

no X2 for Win8 or do I wait for a Win8 patch or should I install the 32bit version ?

Thanks

Are you running as Admin. If not just right click on the x2 icon and select run as admin. See if that helps.

I don't usually do this but I'd have to say that X2 works in Windows 8 as well.
It still crashes just as well/much as any version of Sonar in any version of Windows with any audio interface I've ever used but when it works it works as expected.

Grum.

The app works.

I was able to open Cakwalk template cwp files ,,,  then I was able to insert synths,,, But starting a new project as soon as I try to insert synth it crashes.  I also tried the admin thing and also tried win7 compat.. I can get it going with a cakewalk sample song,, but I go to pro channel and it crashes,,,,,,,

Are we going to have a Win8 patch or is that just bs from cakewalk, cuz its already been a month 8 is out........  Its obviously giving me issues, where Sonar 8.5 on same rig works great.

patch this b*TCH! I didnt pay 500 bones and buy Winblow 8 for this ???

Why? It seems to work well for Brando and Grumbleweed. It takes no Sherlock Homes here to work our that maybe you need to dig deeper into your system.
Here is an idea. Backup then CLEAN install of Windows 8 plus latest drivers plus CLEAN install of Sonar X2. Also update your firmware everywhere. After that then you can carry on b*tching...

For the moment your conclusion is a little premature.

ps You are not telling us how it crashes, if there is an error message for instance, and if you applied the quickfix or anything about your system (see my footer).

Cheers.

I applied the quick fix.  I get a sonarpdr..exe or sometimes no error message just exits out.  Should I install X2 again, cuz I upgraded from Win 7 ultimate x64 .... thanks again guys,,,,

Nothing else in the error message when it states - sonarpdr.exe - No options at all?
