The manual says to click the write button. It then asks if I want to write it. When I close TH2 and open it the preset is gone name and all. Stand alone is where I am mainly working.
Just tried it in the plug-in and it worked and saved just fine by writing it.
Kept the names and all. Opened it, deleted it, and opened it back up and it was there.

Is this a bug or the way it works in the stand alone.  The number color of the preset changes from blue to orange but the names don't stay in the name area.

If you save it "on top" of itself, I believe it saves it as a variation (as opposed to a preset per se)... Open the Search box and it will display the factory presets and variations... Clicking on the factory button toggles it to user where you can select a bank/preset number and save your own preset... In the regular (main) window, you have to change to the user presets to find it of course...

It's a bit cumbersome, but if it's what I think it is, also quite versatile/powerful...

For the first time in history[18 months] I have a zipped file THAT WILL NOT EXTRACT!,sorry for the shouting,but  I have tried about 15 times now and I have to kill it,as it just keeps saying "not responding",oh wait after ten full minutes THIS time it's asking if I wan't to "skip" etc encryption[mac stuff] and then I have to kill it again.

Also the file I'm getting from my account seems to be only 56KB,not 5MB???

yes bob,its tinny,only 56kb, its only presets thats why.
not sure what to tell you there about extraction man,hang in there buddy.

OK,I finally got "it" to unzip,but wow,it ended up stalling forever[15 minutes] and asking me about "encryption" 4 seperate times!

I thought,well this little dell xps L502X has been worked HARD for 18 months it maybe it's falling down,BUT I copied some other "zipped" files from my external WD USB 3.0 1TB "my book essentials",and they ALL unzipped fine.

So now I have a regular folder[unzipped] that contains the following 1. .DS_Store File,2.File Folder with "Cabinet IR's"and 3."Producer-Jazz XML"

Does THIS sound right?,because the un-zipping took sooo long ,I can't help thinking,it's NOT all there?

That is correct
The Cabinet IRs should contain 10 wav files
The xml file is the presets file.
