He is called the Colonel as an honorarium. An appelation applied to those who (wisely) prefer the smooth, ambrosia-like bourbon produced in Kentucky and not Tennessee. Maker's Mark perhaps or Wild Turkey. It quite rightly came about one night when The Colonel and I were toasting each other's per****acity and good fortune.
Oh, well, sippin' whiskey, that's a whole 'nother colonel, like Harlan Sanders (btw known as the "chicken grandfather" in parts of Asia).
Just glad it wasn't Klink or Kurtz...
