I'm working on a Metal Song and would like to use a Bagpipe at the beginnning...
I know that sounds weird, but ...LOL
If you know of a good one (and especially FREE) it would be very helpful...
Thanx!
Not going to ask why. I just know I wouldn't [whatever it is you're going to do with the pipes].
Was on a flight from London to Amsterdam, sitting about 5th row. Once at altitude, the most cacophonous noise I'd ever heard in the air broke out. Turns out half of the back of the plane were Scotsmen, on their way to view the second of a home-and-home qualifier against the Dutch, after a stunning 1:0 victory in Scotland.
The flight attendants just gave up.
Once you've listened to the pipes at 30,000 feet, you never want to listen to them again.
Follow-up.
I was speaking at a conference at the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam (a VERY nice place) and wound up having to chair it when the chair failed to show. By the end of the first day, I was beat, and just went down to the lobby bar to watch the match between the Dutch and the Scots. The Dutch scored 3 in the first half and 3 in the second half, while completely shutting out the Scots.
A bit after the match ended, 5 very well lubricated Scotsmen in kilts walked up to the bar and the place got QUIET. The big Scot in the middle pounded his fist on the bar and said (well, yelled) "Six bloody lucky goals! 5 beers!"
Had some REAL fun after that. Those guys were a blast. The 5-star Japanese staff were a clueless and just let it go.
Turns out none of them had a direct way home. The win in Scotland was so unexpected, that nobody had made reservations for Amsterdam. They were taking trains to different cities the next day to fly home. One of them was even paying one of the special Amsterdam "hotels" by the hour for the night because all of the um, regular hotels were booked.
