There are people who have been very helpful to all of us facing uncertain futures and all some of you can think about is me me me. Unless your software suddenly stops working tomorrow you got what you paid for. Even those who bought "lifetime updates" had to have sone inkling that lifetime implied lifetime of company. If you just purchased that, that is something you take up with customer service and not spit in the faces of those that have put up with your worse than millennial entitlement issues over the years. F@#$ no you don't get third party licenses unlocked! The deal that got you those products was contracted to be locked or you would have been charged much more. Damn near every third party software bundled and locked into Sonar has been offered for next to nothing in the Deals forum cakewalk allows us to have. Maybe cakewalk can be generous and unlock cakewalk owned locked products, but kick rocks with your selfish demands. You have a great product that will work for many years. I have X3 ( and a half kinda sorta) and it works fine. Get over yourselves and show some appreciation for people who have been very good to us. If you have a legit gripe take it up with those who actually have a part in this and not the bakers who have been awesome . This is best product based forum and this is an awful way to show appreciation.

I automatically assumed it meant the users lifetime. And btw, I feel 0 shame , only disappointment and possibly slight anger over shelling out for lifetime updates but if you don't feel that way, I'm OK with that too.

I've been on both sides of this kind of situation and definitely agree.  As long as the software doesn't have a timebomb in it then that's that.

Anything more Cakewalk can do, great, but frankly when products / companies are shutdown all bets are off.

Frankly, when I saw the "lifetime updates" offer I thought one thing: this is a bad sign for the future of Cakewalk.

I'm sure the the bakers are not even on this dumb A$$ forum! Would you be if it was just part of a "JOB" that you no longer have? :( Maybe you better look at how you're acting! This is just as disrespectful as well NOTHING here that has been said! There is NOT one person here that has ANY ill will for the bakers!
WE ARE ALL PISSED AT GIBSON! NOT EACH OTHER! This post was not needed...

They are, a couple of them were just on, and they have been here on and off during the day checking things out.

As a longtime forum member, the bakers are standup guys who will be standup right until the end. If you have no shame in whining, whine away

Shame on some of you

No, shame on you. A lot of people just got ripped off, some knowingly, by a CEO who quite frankly is an idiot. There are plenty of resources like Glassdoor etc to judge how Gibson employees feel about him and the work environment, and I'm sure it's possible to find out his outrageous salary.

I use Sibelius as well. The top guys at Avid make obscene salaries, yet they notoriously fired the Sibelius team and it now operates with a bare-bones crew. Nice guys but they can't handle it. Sound familiar? Speaking of which, where is Gibson's CEO? I'd love to see him pop in this thread. Oh wait, that would take courage and leadership.

I'm sure the Cakewalk employees work hard. So do the rest of us. They were ripped off and so were some people here. And what happens when a CEO crashes a company? They tend to ride into the sunset, golden parachute in hand, and just leave the mess. There's outrage to be had, let's point it in the right direction. Did anyone ever think that Gibson was a well-run company? I knew very well when I saw "lifetime updates" that it was a desperate ploy and people would get taken. And they were. I don't care if it's 100 bucks or a nickel, because I guarantee that the CEO's second vacation home is in great condition.
