Jeesh whats with all the attitude? I have been away a couple days. My system specs were there for many years (I've been a member here for quite a while) I have neglected to replace the system data. My PC is Intel Duo Core E7500 2.93Ghz I have 8 gigs of ram My interface is an M-Audio Fast track Ultra however it is not hooked up right now as I am using a XENYX Behringer X1622USB mixing console with USB connectivity and ASIO drivers. I have been using that for about a year now. Latency is at 5.3 ms and my video card is a G41 express. The drop outs are happening on projects that are relatively small. 9 or 10 audio tracks a couple soft synths and maybe between 8 and 15 plugins. Oh Yes..and I am running windows 7 Pro x64

Hey Swamptooth...looks like that did it. I made this adjustment and have been playing larger and larger projects to see if it would drop and it has not yet. I really appreciate that help!! Thanks..I'll let you know if the problem comes back but I am pretty sure that this solution was what I needed. Thanks again

John
Your latency may be too low.

In response to your question about attitude I would point out that often when a post is made and is asking for help this forum often responds quickly. Its somewhat frustrating to try to answer a poster when they don't show up.

In future staying around to see what response you get will prove helpful both to you and the forum. Or one can subscribe to a thread and get updates on it when one comes in.

Here I saw no attitude from the various posters just a lot of wondering.

no problem 6strings... there's a lot going on between the audio interface and midi commands and such and the dropout msec is a bit low for a default imho. 750 works for me on a less-than par system and that seems to keep everything in sync even when i'm running really effects laden projects.  i really don't have any problems to speak of in how x1 and x2 operates, but that comes from years of trying to break software for profit. ;)

I had similar problem and solved by a new fresh installation. I had X1 before and the upgrade to X2 was buggy.
I'm using CW until cakewalk6 and i can say that CW doesn't always love upgrade. It sometimes (often for me) prefers a fresh new installation.
Don't know if this helps...

Oh wow...FFS! I had forgotten about all the past hatred for Behringer. I Thought everyone got with the times and realized that is NOT the same garbage that it was 5 or 10 years ago. What a riot....a "stay behind" so to speak. No sir, you are wrong, the Behringer is NOT a problem. I have had no problems with it for the year that I have had it and am quite happy actually. You may want to dig into what you're criticizing; They have seriously come a long way in the last several years. Sort of like Hyundais. Remember how awful they were for ever? Not so bad now...especially for the price, just like the Behringer. Thanks StarTekh, Swamptooth and piangio. I will certainly take you up on the help if I have any more issues. John? Sorry I was not more attentive to this thread. I feel badly that I put folks out. I will try to be a better forum member.

Let's see. You've previously used your M-Audio with success and now that you've switched your sound hardware to the Behringer and running it at 5.3ms (which I think is unrealistic for your hardware especially since your CPU is also below requirements) you're having problems with projects as their complexity increases. Drops outs are predominantly reports from the Audio Card not being able to keep up. Logic tells us that it is most likely your Behringer. Honestly, if you get that butthurt over owning a Behringer and having to rationalize it with a cheap automobile maybe you should reevaluate things.

Don't sweat the forum, people just get itchy keyboard fingers.

I can't stop thinking X32 and begin to drool everytime I hear Behringer...I presume they're wiping the floor with Presonus...
