Jeesh whats with all the attitude? I have been away a couple days. My system specs were there for many years (I've been a member here for quite a while) I have neglected to replace the system data. My PC is Intel Duo Core E7500 2.93Ghz I have 8 gigs of ram My interface is an M-Audio Fast track Ultra however it is not hooked up right now as I am using a XENYX Behringer X1622USB mixing console with USB connectivity and ASIO drivers. I have been using that for about a year now. Latency is at 5.3 ms and my video card is a G41 express. The drop outs are happening on projects that are relatively small. 9 or 10 audio tracks a couple soft synths and maybe between 8 and 15 plugins. Oh Yes..and I am running windows 7 Pro x64
Howdy 6string - it would really help us to help you to provide some additional information, such as the driver version you are running on the X1622USB on your system.  Also, the sampling rate and ASIO buffer size as set for that device, as well as the sample rate as set in Sonar, in addition to the record bit-depth.

Lastly, some plugin effects and some soft synths can really spike latency, so for one of the projects giving you fits, will you please list the plugin effects and soft synths you have for that project?

Thanks - if everyone had their Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich today, maybe we can get to the bottom of this.

Mr 6 string has started a few threads, received prompt answers and never returned.

NOT the same garbage that it was 5 or 10 years ago.

It is not that we think it's garbage, It's just there's a big difference between pro audio and devices that emulate pro audio.
Luckily I've only bought 2 products from them, both lasted about 4 years.
My Yamaha gear is all 20 to 30 years old and still works. I have to say that when it was new my Xenyx mixer sounded real good. It was handy for my solo gigs and as a sub mixer for recording. With in a year it got noisy and half the faders are so bad that I can only use 5 out of 10 channels and have to bypass the masters now.

Next board will be Allen and Heath or Yamaha.
PS from what I've read the drivers for most of these mixers are not up to the standards of what you get with a real audio interface. just sayin.
I too would point the finger at the drivers,, and even wag it up and down a little...

Thanks Mr Cactus.  I don't have a lot of patience for that - it's like sometimes people post when they are heading out the door on holiday.

Then again, he did jump back in, after a good thrashing and a bunch of attitude from some forum folks (I do accept responsibility for 1 random "What's the frequency, Kenneth" comment).

If he returns, and if people chill, and if 12/21 is merely another day to play lotto, then maybe we can help him get this figgered.
