I'm just old school.... 

Since I normally have volume envelopes in every track anyway...... I just use the existing envelopes to shut down the tracks at the end as needed. 

By using this method.... sure it takes a few minutes to set it up and work the ending...BUT.. the payoff is I can precisely control how long something rings at the end... if I want the acoustics to fade out completely but let the piano ring a half second longer.... it's easy to do. 

In this example below, the bass gets shut down before it plays the last note....and the guitars all ring and fade at the same time to nothing.

I'm partial to busing instrument sections. If I need to knock a group of faders down and they're all feeding the same bus: I just fade the bus. This is just one of those things where there are five million ways to skin the cat...
