Welcome to the forum.
I got this from the A&H website:

SONAR X1 LE – Provided Free!
We’ve included Cakewalk SONAR X1 LE with ZED-R16 so you can immediately start to use it to create your own music.
Key Features
    • Powered by SONAR X1
    • 32 audio tracks
    • 64 MIDI tracks
    • 8 simultaneous inputs and outputs
    • 24-bit/96 kHz audio quality
    • 24 simultaneous effects
    • 8 simultaneous virtual instruments

So you're getting all the inputs SLE can use.

Oh well now that makes perfect sense lol...
do you know how to send the audio out from the computer to the L-R of the mixer board?

Not really, except you need to select all the output drivers you want to use in SONAR, then in the tracks/buses.
I don't know which version of SLE you have, but you'll find that under Options>Audio>Drivers or press the P button on the computer keyboard to bring up Preferences.
Once it's out of the box you'll have to figure out how to route it through the Zed. I don't have one.
Good luck!

Select ASIO as driver mode. The WDM drivers only expose 8 in/out. With ASIO you'll have access to 18 in/out plus the 8 extra ADAT in/out if you have a device piped in.

EDIT:Subject to the LE version limitations, but you won't see more than 8 in any version of Sonar in WDM mode.

Use the older driver as well (3.5.5) or you'll end up with a lag between pressing play and playback.

You have a couple of options here depending on what you want to monitor. In the master section there are three buttons under the phones level knob. Top to bottom "2 track 2", "2 track 1", "Dig master - Main master L-R"

With all three up you can monitor channels 17/18 (the main outs) coming back from the computer. You won't be able to monitor any of the board inputs via the L/R buss that way though.

To monitor the main board L/R buss and the main outputs from the computer at the same time, you need that bottom button in the down position (and the others up). In addition the "Dig-Master to L-R" button (just above the headphone out) needs to be down so the LED is lit. That way you'll get the main digital outs back to the board as part of the L-R buss (level control is via the master buss fader in Sonar) and full control over the 16 channels for monitoring as long as their individual channels L-R send buttons are down.

I'm working from memory here so I hope that is accurate, I'll double check when I get back to my studio.

I've had my ZED for a couple of years now and you have got a really great board/interface. Literally every routing that you could imagine is possible as well as being able to add that fantastic EQ in as an outboard EQ. Fantastic bit of kit.
