JB - please detail again for me how you were able to accomplish this.  It's like 2 am and my brain went to bed some time ago.

If indeed I can do this, then I am going to GO TO TOWN with getting a whole bunch of really kewl tunes recorded.

I normally abnormally use sometime 2 or 3 different meters, so if you could just tell me how to do 2, I would be SO forever grateful.

After working with other musicians for about 40 years, I would be really happy to keep ONE tempo per parts played at the same time.  THAT is even hard to do for lots of dudes, live anyways.  Drives me crazy that folks can't tap their feet or count to 4 on a regular basis.

At the risk of stating the obvious, you can do what you want on Sonar or pretty much any other DAW, but you have to be willing to bounce MIDI tracks to audio as you go.  An audio clip is not affected by the tempo map.

There's only one tempo map and it will control the all MIDI playback but not the audio clips (yes, there are groove clips that will respond to tempo, but let's ignore that ... I don't know a whole lot about using them anyway).

Two Tempo's. one intro Acoustic Melodic playing guitar,,then fade, and Distorted Guitar for Post Verse at new tempo..both on their own Audio Tracks and Own Buss's. I only did the Each Audio Track with it's own Audio Buss based on a video tutorial on youtube. Due to severe lack of Information in the Manual Dealing with Guitar only Projects. it seems Cakewalk is more concerned with keyboard music and has left Guitar players with very open minds to creativity out. but back on point. I am gathering that my ability to have one Audio track (clean,Smooth Acoustic guitar) and it's own audio bus. while having another track with it's own bus at a different tempo is not possible..? I don't see why that would not be possible. it can be done in studio's using protools..Ask Metallica.. they do it all the time. and Zappa did it but that was Before DAW Software. So what I want to do is not possible, but is possible with protools.

keeping tempo is not the problem. my problem is how ever. one intro guitar at 50bpm faded out to nothing, then on track #2 sneaks in Distorted Guitar and will be at 140bpm. and I bounce the into track and then attempt to apply new tempo and it changes the intro tempo to 140bpm. it will not allow me to change each individual audio track tempo..I watched a Video on protools and it is possible to tempo change each track separately.. maybe this is another reason Protools in the Industry standard.

  1. Move the now time to where you want the tempo change
  2. Select "Insert Tempo Change" from the "Project" menu
  3. Make sure that "Insert a new tempo" is selected in the dialogue box
  4. Click okay....job done

I Have this Music in my head and on separate projects that are as creative as Zappa, Zappa is a Major Contributor to my Love of Music and Composition, I am a Satriani fan as well as a Fan of Malmsteen, Johnson,Vai, Balducci, and a boat load more. this song is obscure and as complex as Zappa's Orchestrated Compositions. but I am seeing that what I wish to do is not possible. so perhaps this could one day be a possibility for cakewalk to have this function. "who am I Zappa" I take that as a Compliment. I wish I could have met him.

ok giving it a go Thank you Very Much FastBikerBoy..and thank you for leading me to this Forum from youtube. could you do a tutorial on this subject. I think it would be very useful to others if they knew how to do this. Also why is there (0) tutorials on youtube on SonarX1 X2 for Guitar players only. every single tutorial is for Synthesizer Piano players. Not all of us Play keys. it would really be awesome of someone Devoted the time and effort to Doing How to Tutorials on Sonar and Guitar Recording. and the things that can be done.

so no need to have a separate bus for each audio track? just one bus. for 5 guitar's? How would I control levels on each guitar if they are all on one Bus?

If the buss is being used as an output from the 5 tracks, the level is controlled via the track fader. If being used as a send buss, level to the buss can be controlled via the "send level" control.
