The project was originally done in Sonar X1 even the latest patch it was fine until I added both multiband compressors to the master bus for comparisons (LP64 Multiband & Sonitus multiband) all was fine until I saved the project, now when I reopen it Sonar closes as quick as anything I don't even get time time to see the crash error message.

Not sure what the issue is, but you might be able to open the project in SONAR's "safe mode" by holding down Shift while you open the project.

You will then be able to choose which plug-ins get loaded...

Edit: Never mind! Scott had a better suggestion than where I was heading :)

Two votes for Scott's suggestion.

I had an 8.5 project last year that would crash on opening, the culprit was the Alias plug-in patched across a bus. I needed a few attempts with SONAR safe mode to track it down, but at least I didn't lose the project.

Interesting, you and I have the same type of video card, but it's very doubtful that's the problem.

Here's something from Google:

The error code 0xc0000005 also generated when illegal “memory access violation”. There may be possibility that your RAM is defected or the device driver is corrupted. Also try to remove the antivirus because they also take a large space of memory. Antivirus programs also blocks many applications from being run on the PC even if they are not virus. They do that for security reasons.

Funny.  I'm getting the same thing.  I hoped the patch would fix it.  No dice.  I've been running 8.5 producer on this machine, dual quad running 12 gig of memory and dual hd monitors ever since 8.5 came out (64 Bit). Windows 7, Onyx 1640 Firewire, cause I know someone will ask. I NEVER had a single solitary issue.

I thought the problem was V-Vocal, the first crash occurred when I tried re-opening a saved session in which I used V-Vocal.  I'm now pretty sure it's the pro-channel.  Left unused I have no problems.  As soon as I turn it on, in any channel or bus and then save the project, Sonar refuses to re-open the project once closed.

I tried safe mode, unplugged every plug in.  Same error message.  I plan to uninstall x1 tomorrow and request a refund.  This upgrade is retrograde and, as my son would say an "Epic Fail."

I'm sure that I'll be thrown under the bus by a bunch of folks that know more about computers than I do.  I'm a musician, not a computer guy.  Cakewalk should work for the average person, out of the box, period.  If it doesn't it just isn't ready to be sold.  I've used it for years, purchased every version since 6 I think.  They're into me for a lot of money, and they've now cost me a whole day's worth of tracking.

Where's the love Cakewalk?  This program is infected with salmonella.  Issue a recall before someone gets really sick!

Im having a similar problem also but am waiting until morning to be able to get back onto my system to get the crash file to see if its the same error. Problem crashing just started today on a project that has had NO problems at all since installing X1. X1 Loads OK, but when I select a project to open, it hangs in loading "TTS-1...) then crashes. It only does it on this one project, I started a new one and loaded one MIDI and one Audio track and it seems to save, load, and open fine. Not sure whats going on but it seems like alot of others are all of a sudden having similar problems. Im sure it will all get worked out eventually with Cakewalk and some help from the fine members in here, can be just abit frustrating at times. Im gonna keep watching until I can get a remedy and will update as usual. Good luck
