i had to go look that up...

Alan Garner in the childrens' book: The Weirdstone of Brisingamen

never read it...
A Svartmoot is a meeting of the Svartalfar "Black Elves" i.e. dwarves, from the 13th century Norse Prose Edda by Snorri Sturluson. Moot means meeting or council.

Thanks for checking it out Gonzo, and for doing the research. Yep the 'svarts' or 'svartalfar' are 'fallen' elves, small goblins - not dwarves, those are the 'Huldrafolk' and 2 of them are heroes in the book, one dies at the Headless Cross.

Alan Garner drew on many mythologies for his book, from the King Arthur legend to ancient Nordic tales. It's been a favourite of mine ever since my sister read it to me when I was very young, maybe 7 years old. One of the things that appeals to me about it is that it's set in and around a real place - Alderley Edge in Cheshire, England.

Glad you enjoyed the listen!

The Band19
I don't think I've heard the album in its entirety? But I have done my best to listen and comment on each song as it came to fruition. Congratulations on your accomplishment.

Alright first off , I don't think that James thread belongs on page 2 of the Songs Forum  especially after doing all the work it took to do a concept project of this Epic Magnitude

Yeah James , I've listened to a few of your tunes over the past couple of weeks …everything sounds very good
I like the look of your web page ,  dig the back stories and links to some of your collab mates.
Fabulous that you could stay on course and undertake the thousands of details that it tool to see your musical expression actualized .

Thanks very much Kenny! It was a lot of work, and there were a few times when I almost gave up and shelved it. Plenty of things I'd do differently now, but the main thing is, I still enjoy listening to the tunes.
