And I mean that truly. One of my all-time best friends (currently touring with his family band) who I had not seen in 6 yrs came up to visit in Michigan from the Baja, and we immediately got to recording a thing. a couple days later, I remixed it.

I like the remix better because the music stays *basically* interesting enough to keep the song feeling like at least SOME thing is happening. I definitely want you guys' opinions... you don't have to listen the whole way thru either.

bear in mind that we were on a time crunch and I really wanted HIS vision for the collaboration so we didn't get a lot really happening with the original track at all

Hi Dave,

First thing that strikes me is that the vocal hits sound like they're landing a fraction late, so the groove is not quite there. Could be a good start for a song though.

Hum... I'm looking for something to like here, I guess I'll say it's unique!

I preferred the remix as well, it held my interest.

The vocals are a bit behind the beat as James mentioned, so perhaps you can nudge them backwards a little?   I was also thinking a ping-pong delay with chorus or flange (on the delay) and automation may add a little something since the "dah dah" lines carry the melody for most of the tune.
