I setup 3 screensets and tried it.

Unfortunately X2 will not *save* the window size and state (when the project is saved) for the PRV in 2 specific areas, and this is even after locking the specific screenset and then saving the project.

The areas it won't remember are: 1) The width of the side panels, and more importantly, the left controller list / piano keyboard panel.

2) Most importantly it won't save/remember the height of the controller pane after it's been dragged up most of the way.

3) I'm also seeing many crashes when switching screensets before they are locked and the project is saved / reopened.

So although screensets is a step in the right direction for this workflow, I think we're dealing with an incomplete beta version here in X2.

Hopefully they'll get it working properly. I'll be waiting a while to see. Evaluation is finished with no sale.

Also, luckily I'm still way ahead of X2 with the functionality of 4.0.2.
4.0.2 literally smokes X2 for large scale midi production in my opinion (128+ tracks - 10 or more PRV pinned open)
It looks more defined, has many hot keys*** that have been removed from X2
and it's only down side that I see is it can't run on Win7 Pro. ( or can it ??? where's the fix for that? )

*** CTRL+TAB to flip through open windows
ALT+W+number to switch between open windows.

Unfortinately there are some bugs with X2 screensets and they don't always work like they should.

I use CTRL-TAB to switch windows all the time, though I am using multiple monitors and undocked windows. Sonar's current interface seems impossibly fubar for a single monitor setup in my opinion. But it works okay in multiple monitor mode. Everything is still a little weird. PRV controllers and the "A" key being removed for displaying multiple tracks is indeed a royal pain in the butt, and I miss very much the quick and efficient ways of the old 8.5 and below PRV days.

Alas though, the Prochannel, and track view are awesome. I hope that Cakewalk starts to refocus on good MIDI scoring capabilities. Not so much adding new features as restoring/fixing efficiency in the PRV and Staff views.

I've got a multiple monitor setup also.
Yes ... Undocked and floating all windows, CTRL+TAB works ... thanks for that.

Thankfully WINKEY+Arrow Keys still work to maximize, minimize and force to Left or Right half of monitor.

Some other bad new changes:
A prv maximized over the track view eliminates the possibility of using ALT+P to get to the process menu or any ALT+? menu access, and although there are
View - Notes - Controllers - Tracks
on the top of the PRV that have hot letters under them, there is no hot letter to open
View - Notes - Controllers - Tracks
Incomplete work again.

Even so. I'm still watching and waiting.

I appreciat all of the thoughtful discussion and input from everyone here.
