A couple more differences between EZD and SD2 that haven't been mentioned yet:

Superior samples are larger and take up more RAM (more velocity layers, more round-robin alternates, multiple mic positions, plus bleed and ambiance samples). Consequently, SD2 provides a couple of memory-conservation options: the choice of 16- or 24-bit samples, and the ability to purge unused samples.

Superior eats more CPU, too. The effects are pretty hungry, especially if you use any of the Toontrack presets, which are over the top with effects (I recommend you only use the presets to get ideas). But they're good effects, especially the compressor on overheads and/or room and the transient shaper on kick, snare or toms.

Good info, bitflipper.

Any feedback from anyone on the EZDrummer Vintage pack?  I plan to buy it and Nashville and Sweetwater sells them for only $39.  That amount of money is not a big deal, but since my system is weird and the EZD install was weird, I thought I would buy one pack to ensure it installed right before going crazy on the shopping.

It is a good thing that money is not the issue, I remember those days. They are available from elsewhere (Audiodeluxe) for $35.

You can't go wrong with Vintage or Nashville they are both great.

If you have a use for those kits, then they are a great deal at $39, and not a bad deal if you'd like to have them "just in case".

Hey, Julien. I am getting off-topic here, but how do you like EZMix?

I just got it (EZM 2) and have not had time to do more than make sure it is an option in my VSTs. I look forward to it, the video looked really good to me and I figured it would help me learn to use other VSTs better by comparing what I get with it to what I get by using PC and other stuff... but I am really glad to hear that you like it! Tomorrow I am going to rest up, I am keeping my grand daughter from Saturday AM until sometime Sunday afternoon while all the wimmen go to meet the other family wimmen somewhere down the road for a shopping trip. She has tonsilitis and possibly mono... she is NO trouble though and we get along like bread and butter. I'm stil going to watch the SEC and ACC Champinship games though... lol. Getting ready to watch the Falcons beat up on the Saints right now... I hope.

I will let you know how I like it as soon as I get a chance to use it. I am pretty sure I am going to go ahead and buy SD too... why not, you only live once and I think I better get it while a dollar will still buy something... heh.

19.99 special on the Groove 3 Superior Drummer video. They also have one on EZKeys. I am sure they have an EZMix vid in the works.
You know if you've bought anything from Sweetwater that Groove3 has a video for, you can ask SWater and get a free 30 day G3 pass to view any of their videos.

I've got a friend who has a Roland octapad with the hihat pedal and kick. He loves the vintage kit, Nashville and the Standard kit (whatever it is). It's a blast to get our 3 piece band jamming with us all going direct into Sonar. I'll use a Line 6 JTV-69 Variax/ Hd500 and the bass player uses a Sansamp sim, Bootsie's thrillseeker LA comp and a Ampeg svt IR....fun times we live in!

I just got the JTV. I had to send it back and have the electronics replaced, but now all is well. It's a great tool for the studio and a nice guitar on it's own without the variax stuff.
