AVID just posted an update to Sibelius 7 which now has ReWire 64 support.

When I go to the media brower in Sonarx1d, ReWire in no longer greyed out. In fact Sibelius 7 is listed as a ReWire device.

GREAT!

But when I insert Sibelius 7 as  a ReWire device, it shows up not unlike a softsynth in a track but the program (Sibelius 7) never opens...

Yes,  I believe that you have to then open Sibelius.   I have rewired Notion3 using ReWireVST,  but there is very little functionablility.

Can you report back and tell us how the rewire works?  Is it worth doing?

Thanks!

Yes not all rewired apps open automatically, but check you have the 'Synth_Property_Page' checked under 'Open These Views' on the insert soft-synth page first.  Sometimes double-clicking the track icon will also bring up the slave app. but I'm not sure if that's true in the case of X1

If you have to open it manually AFTER inserting it as a Rewire device it should be connected and ready to go.  Don't forget to close it first before closing your Sonar project too.

@ Jimbo88 when you say Notion has limited functionality via Rewire could you be more specific?

Jonbouy,
Using Sonar 64 bit I rewired with ReWireVST,  Notion3 is apparently 32 bit and sample rates did not match up,  so Notion3 is out of tune.

I was able to configure Notion3 to send midi data to SONAR only with 1 midi track at a time in SONAR,  so I could create notation using Notion3 and then I would have to record  the notation  on to a midi track in SONAR.  Not very usable,  but at least I was able to compose using Notion3 instead of Staff View.   It's getting closer to being usable,  but not yet.

Thanks Jim that's interesting, I appreciate the reply.  So basically Notion needs to go 64 bit?

I think that Notion is locked to 44.1k if your project is running 48K that might explain the out of tune problem.

Yea,  should have thought of that!  good catch!

Thanks...

Is it possible to send midi data instead of audio from Sibelius 7 to Reaper or any other DAW?

Once you insert Sibelius as a rewire device. You then open Sibelius not from the ICon but from the program files and load a file into Sibelius and when your hit play in sonar it starts to play in sonar. I set the record button but nothing gets recorded. Still testing
