Well, not having been struck lately by whatever muse that inspires us to write original material I've taken to recording some songs by my favorite artists.
This is one is "My Baby's Lovin'" by Delbert McClinton, who is one of my heroes. I hope I've done his song justice, and I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for listening!

I was going to post a picture of Dilbert, McDonald's, and Bill Clinton? But it was too much work :-)

Love me some Delbert... You did a great job here. I enjoyed the swelling horns, the guitar work, and the vocals. It was all good. It's obvious that a lot of work went in to this, congratulations on your result, good job.

I've never heard this. I like it. The sides could use a db or two or it could be the bass and bass drum is too loud.

Nice vocals!

I love Delbert McClinton and this cover is very nice.  I'll have to hear this several more times.  Kudos!

love Delbert...I agree w/the bass being a bit too heavy...kinda killed the mix.

I'm not familiar with this song but in spite of my ignorance I sure did enjoy it.  Great vocals and I loved the horns.   You did a great job on this.

Nice cover!   It's got that Delbert groove which is so important.   Good performances across the board, everything seems real solid, and the vocals sound great.

John-J -Thanks very much, it was a lot of work. Despite sounding simple, a lot of Delbert's tune are pretty involved when you get into them. Getting that feel with the instrumentation he uses took a while.....

Guitarpima  and Tom - Thanks for listening and the kind words. I backed off the bass and kick a bit, they were a little hot in my original mix.

Lynn -Appreciate the listens and the kudos. Delbert is the MAN!

Freddy - You should listen to Delbert's work, I think you would really enjoy it. The horns are Native Instruments Session Pro. Thanks a lot!

Kenny- Thanks bud, I hope Delbert would agree with you!

Steve - Many thanks. As I mentioned above the groove was the hardest thing to get right. And luckily Delbert's vocals fall right in my range.

Robby! - Ha! That reminds me of where I work. Trying to repair decisions made by idiots based on misinterpretations... Thanks a lot bud!
