I received an email from Idolumic support yesterday that an update to TuneSmith is available online. TS requires Quicktime for its audio recording function. As you know, even Apple recommends that all Windows users uninstall Quicktime. I don't know if Idolumic will come up with a replacement audio recording function for Windows or not, but that have patched TS after I (and I assume others) asked.
The download link still says 5.5, and the installation file has no version info in its filename, but it has been updated. So, to get rid of the error message(s) from the missing QT, do the following:
1) Download and install the TuneSmith update:
http://www.rhymegenie.com/download.html 2) Rename or delete the SimpleSound.fmx plugin in the TuneSmith extensions directory (I renamed mine to SimpleSound.fmx.renamed):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Idolumic\TuneSmith\Extensions
3) Run TuneSmith and follow the popup dialogs to Disable the audio recording function. Note that you'll have to reauthorize TS with Rhyme Genie's serial number. TS will prompt you to delete the sample data and load your latest backup.
All good now. One benefit of this is that TS loads MUCH faster now for whatever reason(s). I've happy!
