I bought a really nice stereo system in 1987 which REALLY demonstrated how bad vinyl records sounded compared to CD's. The very next week I sold my collection of over 2,000 records and began acquiring CD's like nobody's business! I must admit that I don't miss any part of them: The handling, flattening, melting, cleaning, clicks, pops, covers, sleeves, SHORT play (per side), etc. Even when I had a turntable capable of stacking up to five albums, it still seemed to go through them too quick and, obviously, you didn't hear each album in its entirety before going to the next but rather half of each before flipping the stack and hearing the other half. Back then I used to record the entire album onto a cassette tape and play that instead. I really like being able to shuffle play thousands of songs now and not have to monitor the process!
I know what you're saying Craig, and this is not something that I would have bought myself. But, now that it's here, it would be rude not to use it, and me and the missus are enjoying the novelty of it.
And, when it's not in use, we stick Asia's picture disc on it haha
