Dreamstation? ? Isn't that ooooold?? I haven't even looked at it for years!

But will check it out

I liked the advertisement at the begining - The chick was hot and the underwear awesome.

Will see the rest now. Perhaps I will find some use for the good old Dreamstation after this

Dreamstation was the first synth you could buy with your ration vouchers. Brings back memories of long summers and ginger beer.

OK, I watched it through. I won't be installing Dreamstation - I refuse to go 32-bit with anything. But it was cool seeing it again.

Anyway, with regards to the video it self. I dunno man, sorry. It's kind of a how-to-use-softsynths-in-Sonar tutorial blurred with a how to find presets in Dreamstation. I would exclude all the technical stuff regarding inserting a softsynth, the detailed install instructions and all Sonar specific bits and pieces, and rather leave that to its own video or something. To me, a lot of these little "extras" - setting default bus and so forth - only became a distraction to the actualy topic. And to be very honest, I didn't think the video added anything interesting when it comes to the Dreamstation synth until about 15 minutes into the video and after that it was really short.

having said that, the video looked good and I liked the narration, that was excellent IMHO. The video in it self is well made! There were a few surprises in terms of volume and track output that probably should have been ironed out before recording - but then again, they made me laugh

I prefer the videos to have an introduction, telling short what it will be about and in what order and have the topics coming from "Easy" to "Expert" as the video progress. And more on how the sound sculpting process is in the synth would be cool, LFO, filters and so forth.

But then again, Miles Vary and so forth

Thanks, guys! I'm glad you - kinda - enjoyed it.

These videos I'm working on now are actually supplements to the SONAR Power! books, which is why there are some basics included in the videos and they are covering some older features. I wanted to provide an added bonus to my faithful readers.

Thanks!

AH, that puts it in a different light I thought it was something supposed to stand on it's own and i was really keen on learning something new.

As I still haven't goten hold of your book I don't know how it relates to that but in a Sonar context and for some practical excercise it certainly makes more sense

OK, disregard all the other crap I wrote and pay attention to what I said about the video it self. It is quite good

Thanks, Marius! No, I appreciate the constructive criticism you provided, so no worries there. I'm always open to hearing that stuff and using it to improve my work. I'll definitely keep it in mind for the upcoming DVDs, which will definitely have all new, focused content. So, thanks for letting me know what you're looking for.

Ha! Yeah, the DreamStation would probably work pretty well for creating some old time video game music.

I too was expecting more Dreamstation and less "How to setup softsynths".

One thing I would have liked to see is a few tweaks to some of the patches.  For example, maybe adding some filtering to the trumpet patch, etc.

The thing I thought was cool was the hidden randomize function.  I had no idea it was there.
