This is a freebie right now... One Knob Louder...

It comes with both 32 and 64bit, but tho the dll's are in the right place, Sonar will only "find" the 32bit version...

Anybody else find this?

No, just inserted it to check, and pulled up  the About Sreen.  It says it's the 64bit version.

Did you download the version 9.1.0.9  Build 1363?

Hi Keni,
I just installed my free one knob louder, and all 4 versions turned up-32 bit mono/stereo,64 bit same.
I had the "only the 32 bit would show" when I first tried Waves, and it was the Kramer tape that would only show in 32 bit.

I got in touch with support, and they told me to delete anything in the VST part of the regisrty that refferred to wavesHKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software\ Cakewalk VSTx64 \ Inventory, and thats what I did but I ended up finding another reason for why,the 64 version wouldn't show, and for the life of me "I can't remember",but it was something to do with reinstalling all the Waves plugs again.

I'm sorry I don't remember, but the answer occurred when I was in the regisrtry,I just wish I could remember exactly, also don't forget to make a backup of the regisrty first, and the section I wrote just now,is pasted from the support email.
Good Luck!
Bob

I keep seeing this brought up. What's it supposed to do? A google search isn't helping much. Cheers.

From the Waves manual:

"Using a combination of peak limiting and low level compression with automatic makeup, OneKnob Louder is a dynamics processor that makes your tracks...louder. If you have a track with weak levels, rather then just boost the peaks, Louder will increase its RMS by up to 24dB. And if your source level is already loud, it will deliver a moderate loudness boost. "

Thanks Guys...

I'll look into some of this more. I thought I downloaded the latest version but the plugin reports as 1363 instead of 13637... So I'll look for a more recent version???

...and I'll look into the registry changes too...

This could be a handy device for those times when someone doesn't care about finesse and simply wants it louder! ;-)

Thanks Again...

Hallo, Keni, I think you misread my question mark as a 7.  It reports here as Build 1363, too.

I've not used it yet, and not sure if I will, but it's nice for free.  I guess I need to have a play first.  It sounded okay when I just threw it on a track and a bus to check it worked okay.

Let us know how you get on.

It took a little playing around, but I got it working at last...

I removed it from the registry and then rescanned and it showed in plugin manager

But it would not open in Sonar giving some kind of "formal" complaint...

So I returned it to the registry and found that it now loaded...

But now I couldn't import any wav files...

So a reboot seemed in order and now?

All is well... The knob is working 32/64bit and Sonar is back to behaving as we currently expect...

Much thanks for the info and ideas.... and mostly for being there to help!

BTW...

For anyone interested in it... It seems to be pretty good at what it does. It's characteristics allowed me to easily increase the apparent volume of a track by 5db with very little perceived compression effect. I'll certainly play with it some more but it might just be an easy 2db booster to add to a mastering on a shoestring...

Check it out. It's free! Simply go to  http://www.waves.com and open an account (free). There's a button right on the homepage to get the whole sign up/download happening...

It might be handy to have around...?

I have been trying for days to get this plug. I registered, they sent me a confirmation assuring me that I'd have my download link in 48 hours, then when it came along with the serial number, it claimed not to recognize the very email I'd registered with (the one they sent the freaking confirmation to). So I registered with that email again, and it took me to a page where I entered the serial number, which it accepted, then took me to a link to download V9 (or whatever it is), and in the process asked me which Waves software I wanted to download. There was no free Louder knob in the list, just a demo of the whole OneKnob package.
