Hello all, hope you are all well. I just got ez drummer on a black Friday deal (if only things in the UK got discounted like this) for $29 or £18:50. Now I can't get this to work as a plug in i've gone into vst settings and found it in there and selected but it never comes up in my list of synths or plug ins. It works as a stand alone and thats about it, any ideas, Stuart

Hi There!

Have you done a re-scan of your VST plugs - making sure you have the right folder path?
Another important issue nowadays is getting the correct 32 or 64 bit version for your Sonar set up.

Did you make sure the folder where the Toontrack 64 bit DLL resides is in your scan path?

You have to search for the toontrack ez  ( .dll)  and put that in the path for sonar to scan. Sometimes you may have to start and scan twice.
Different setup put it in different place. It may be in the cakewalk folder under vstplugins or in a folders called steinberg or even in the toontrack folder.
Once found cut and past it in to the cakewalk vstplugin folder

Sorry I haven't updated you guys been flat with work and karate. Annoyingly my profile on my laptop became corrupt on my laptop so I had to reset everything including sonar. Like I said before it works fine by itself and I can drag and drop the midi into session drummer 2 or the cakewalk drums. But I still can't get it to work as a plugin. have tried searching for the file with (.dll) and can't find anything. I am going to apply the updates and try again. I'm running x2 studio 64 bit not sure what ez drummer is though.

As has been stated, you will have to do a search for your "ezdrummer.dll" file...which is either in
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins

or

C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins

or

where ever you installed EZDrummer to...it prompts you for the location when you run the installer.

If all else fails - REINSTALL, paying particular NOTE to where the installer is placing the files...if
it is NOT putting them in the Vstplugins folder then BROWSE to that folder and tell it to..

Toontrack Solo...the standalone goes to C:\Program Files (x86)\Toontrack, IIRC by default... and the .dll's may reside there
also...

I always TELL the program where to install - if it gives me the option (many cake and other programs do not) so that
I KNOW where they are...

^ exactly what he said...

plus

make sure you've downloaded and installed the latest update as well.  if you don't update the software the 64bit version will not work correctly (it will load as a VSTi, but the sounds won't work)
