Hold on a second - you can control the installation paths during installation.  I save the programs ONLY on my primary drive (C:), and I direct all samples and such to a secondary drive (D:).  So my Perfect Space content, my Session Drummer content, and that sort of thing are on my secondary hard drive - and this was specified during that install process.

You can also move things around after the initial installation, you just have to go back into Sonar Preferences (X1 or X2) and go to the Folder Locations dialog box and tell Sonar where you moved things to.  But if you managed the paths during the installation, you should not need to do this step.

I do think that the install creates a Cakewalk Projects folder on your C: drive, but after install, just create one (or cut and paste) to your D: drive, then go into Sonar Preferences>Folder Locations and change the path for the Cakewalk Projects folder to the one you put on your D: drive.

This way your projects will not eat up your SSD storage.  If you also have the default set to create an audio folder for each project, all of that will also be placed within each project folder stored on the D: drive.
