On the Soundcenter program information pane there is a MIDI pattern preview button. However, unlike other synths (e.g. RXP) I do not seem to be able to drag the pattern onto a track. I cannot find anything about this in the documentation, but is this correct? I will have to craft my own MIDI patterns for each instrument?

If anyone can tell me where I can find MIDI patterns for these instruments I would be grateful.

Yes, that is just a preview button so you can hear the sound while trying to choose an appropriate patch. You need to create your own MIDI data to drive the SoundCenter.

However, you can find MIDI clips in the Browser under the Media tab in the MIDI Groove Clips category.

Thanks, I was afraid of that.

The issue is that for some percussion instruments I will have to first identify the notes, and then create the mdi files. for me as a keyboard player this is a tad tedious, so i was hoping that I could use midi files already written for the soundcentre percussions and drums. Ho hum...
