  • Combine Drums Patterns in Take Lanes

I created a midi drum pattern building the parts up with different take lanes. For example, kick in lane 1, snare in lane 2, toms in lane 3, etc. Now that I've got the pattern down, I want to combine it all into just one midi clip. I can't figure out what's the best way to combine them. What is the correct method for combining the takes into one clip? Thanks for any help. Regards, Ira.

Have you tried selecting all the clips, right clicking and choosing "bounce to clips"?

You are right. I selected midi the clips and did a bounce to clip. I was getting confused because I'm getting a strange behavior. When I right-click to select "bounce to clip", several other audio tracks get selected also, even though I didn't select them. When I do the bounce to clip, the audio clips are getting bounced at the same time even though I didn't select them. Can't figure out why it's doing that. I'll just delete those audio tracks since I don't need them anyway. Thanks for your help. Ira.

Make sure that you don't have any other tracks selected (the track number is blue).

Are you using X1 or X2?  Selecting is different in each version.

I've been locking all other tracks/clips to avoid this. I think it's a bug in X2.

I've not seen this behavior.

Also, his sig. says he's on X1.

I'm always bouncing to clip and haven't seen this happening

It's a bit OCD but I like the neatness of having contiguous clips (and this also consolidates anything in lanes, which is quite useful)

I think one thing that can happen is having another track selected (i.e. track number is blue) when you select clips to bounce.  This will appear to give this odd behavior.

I also bounce to clip quite a bit, for similar reasons to Bristol Jonesey, and have not seen any erratic behavior that couldn't be traced back to user error.
