Can’t change “Active Track” Colour...
Preferences > Customisation > Colours > Track View Strip > Active Track > Apply > OK > restart application.

But colour remains “grey”. Even tried Exporting and Importing from X2, X1 and 8.5.3 to no avail.
This was happening in X1 and I used SonarMods “TTSRES90.dll” to fix it, but I find it hard to believe cake hasn't fixed this bug, so I wonder, have I mist something here… again?

Perhaps its a LOCKED COLOR (You can't change it) that so many other color are in SONAR X2 nowdays?

It's not a bug it's an inactive feature.

Inactive feature… Bristol_Jonesey, you win the “Best Euphemism” of the year award.

But seriously why does cake lead us down the garden path giving us the option to change a setting that is set in stone? Jeez! How frustrating is that.

When Cake made all of the colour options "inactive" , they should have removed the feature totally from Sonar, just to avoid confusion.

I suspect they're leaving it there so that future versions (X3?) can be opened up fully for custom colour editing, though why they didn't simply remove the menu entry seems like a missed opportunity

A few of the options still work - ie the text color for different types of tracks.

They really should get rid of all the "inactive" settings that don't do anything though.

Now in X2 - rather than having clip color settings for MIDI tracks and for audio tracks - they just have them for "tracks" (and they apply to MIDI and audio tracks). This can get really confusing.

If you can't change the colors - don't give us a "setting" to change!

Glenn - some of the settings *do* actually change colors though - so it's worth playing around...

@ jbraner Yes my friend, but it’s a bit hit and miss ie the text colours I’ve set mine to…
Folder text = yellow
MIDI track text = green
Audio text = crimson
Soft Synth = orange
Bus text =  Skyblue
At a glance you have a better understanding at what you are looking at. I find this approach especially good when returning to an older project

You state... They really should get rid of all the "inactive" settings that don't do anything though.
I disagree with you on this one, they should reactivate. Updates are all about giving us more features not taking away the ones we like and become reliant on

Oh - I agree completely! What I meant was, they should get rid of the settings while they do nothing - but they certainly should fix the color customisation!

Panup had proven that this can be done - I just feel a little uncomfortable with the "unsupported" status of his mods ;-)
