Yes mate, that's why I haven't looked on the sonarmods forum for a solution.

Fingers crossed this will be fixed in X3 or better still X2 build 309, I wont be holding my breath

Thank you GlennP

Duckbar cab now adjust SONAR X1 and X2 Skylight interface hue, contrast, saturation, lightness and gamma values but like said, it's unofficial. I did not have time to wait for the official customization from Cakewalk but that's my problem. :)

More power to you panup! I just can't be bothered remembering to save a backup copy of the EXE file or dll - that's being edited.

It just adds one more variable when something's not working - and there are already way too many variables...

Having said that - I am tempted to try duckbar one of these days...

When Cake made all of the colour options "inactive" , they should have removed the feature totally from Sonar, just to avoid confusion.

I suspect they're leaving it there so that future versions (X3?) can be opened up fully for custom colour editing, though why they didn't simply remove the menu entry seems like a missed opportunity

What could be more confusing? How about leaving changeable colors in the registry but not listing them in the Preferences so you don't know you can change them.

But wait, there's even more. And I address that in a new post here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2694395

I'm designing a "Total Recall" feature in Duckbar which is in short "one click save/restore" SONAR settings. It'll include registry, EXE, DLL, *.ini files etc... Coming soon. :-)

"Active Track" is the one and only locked down color that really bugs me.  They made it gray!?  And inactive tracks are...a kinda slightly darker gray!? (bad design choice, in my opinion)

Active Track should be highly contrasted from inactive tracks.  Without a clear, bold visual I have to verify every time that I'm not working in the ProChannel for the wrong track.  I pleaded this to Cakewalk, but I don't think it made it on their radar.
